Stone Bonner & Rocco LLP serves as counsel for thousands of individuals killed and injured in terrorist attacks throughout the world. The firm represents the United States Marines killed and injured in the 1983 bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, and the family members of those Marines. The firm and its co-counsel succeeded in obtaining an order from the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York that required Iran's central bank and its bankers to surrender over $1.75 billion in assets to the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs in that matter are the first victims of terrorist attacks who have succeeded in recovering assets held in the name of the central bank of a state sponsor of terrorism.
The firm also serves as New York counsel for thousands of Americans and Israelis killed and injured in numerous terrorist attacks in Israel. In those litigations, the plaintiffs are pursuing recoveries against the banking institutions that the plaintiffs have identified as the financial intermediaries for supposed charities that funneled funds to terrorist organizations.
