The Firm is representing a lifelong New York Yankees fan and season ticket holder who bought what was described as "the most sought after" sports collectible on the market, a pair of original, unrefurbished and authentic seats from the old Yankee Stadium, removed prior to the demolition of the stadium. In fact, for an additional five hundred dollars, the firm's client was promised his specific season ticket seats. The seats were authenticated by the defendants, including by the New York Yankees. But the seats were not his. In fact, the seats, which were sold as unrefurbished had been refurbished with new parts, and new paint that does not even match the old paint. Steiner admitted that the seats were not kept together, and as a result seats are simply various pieces of seats slapped together with new parts. The plaintiff alleges that the sale of these seats as authentic, original and unrefurbished is deceptive, sold pursuant to a campaign of false advertising, and that they are accompanied by bogus certificates of authenticity. The case has been brought as a class action on behalf of all similarly situated Yankee Stadium seat purchasers.
