News Ralph M. Stone Discusses Heartland High-Yield Bond Fund Litigation In The Bond Buyer The Bond Buyer 10/31/2000

 

The October 31, 2000, edition of The Bond Buyer, a leading trade publication, included a lengthy article on the revaluation of bond fund shares in the Heartland High-Yield bond funds. The article, "Losses in Heartland's High-Yield Funds Prompt Suits," quotes Shalov Stone & Bonner's Ralph M. Stone at length concerning the litigation. Mr. Stone pointed out that "investors were not given fair warning of how great the risk was" in the Heartland funds. Mr. Stone also discussed the Funds' misleading prospectus and Heartland's website. According to Mr. Stone, "If you visited the Heartland [web]site, they pitched these funds to people who were looking for stable price fluctuation and they got the exact opposite." Mr. Stone has also been quoted in Smart Money magazine and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel concerning the Heartland mutual fund class actions.
