Lee S. Shalov is a top trial lawyer with vast experience litigating and trying complex fraud cases. Mr. Shalov's leadership in cases has resulted in outstanding recoveries in numerous class actions. He is regularly cited in the press for his expertise and efforts on behalf of aggrieved consumers and investors, and he was recently recognized as a New York "Super Lawyer," in an independent, peer-rated selection of the top 5% of lawyers in the state.


Mr. Shalov's recent activities include serving as lead counsel in several prominent securities class actions, including In re Winstar Communications Securities Litigation (recoveries to date in excess of $30 million) and In re Tower Automotive Securities Litigation, and serving as lead counsel or lead trial counsel in several product defect consumer fraud cases. Mr. Shalov is well-known for his litigation of cases involving defects in electronics products.


Mr. Shalov has litigated numerous class action lawsuits that have generated substantial recoveries, including: In re Baan Company Sec. Litig., where he played a leading role in a securities class action that resulted in a $32.5 million recovery for the class; In re Dreyfus Aggressive Growth Mutual Fund Litig., where he was a principal lead counsel in a mutual fund class action that resulted in a $18.5 million recovery for investors ; and Baird v. Thomson Consumer Electronics, where Mr. Shalov was lead counsel in a product defect class action that made available over $100 million in cash and other benefits to purchasers of defective television sets.


Mr. Shalov also has substantial jury trial experience and has tried several high-stakes securities and complex commercial cases in state and federal courts. In 2005, in the Globalstar Securities Litigation, which settled for $20 million after Plaintiffs rested their case, Mr. Shalov was one of the principal trial counsel, and his cross examination of Globalstar's chief financial officer received recognition in the legal press as "masterful."


Mr. Shalov completed his undergraduate study at Boston University, and he is a graduate of the the John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the bars of the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and he is a member of several bar associations.
